These bags are perfect for storing makeup, toiletries, school and craft supplies, pens/pencils, and everything else in between!

Quilted tote bags are spacious, durable and cute! They feature removable bow-ties, a zipper, several interior pockets, a key clip and more!

a laptop & tablet sleeve - perfect for the busy worker or student!
water bottle pocket - comfortably fits up to a 40 oz. bottle and has a elastic band to keep it secure! Free up those hands people! (literally talking to myself)
small top pocket - perfect for the small things you need to keep close by
a hidden secret pocket - pull back the small top pocket to reveal a small hidden pocket. This is perfect for secret cash and even fits a passport! That makes this bag great for traveling abroad :)
pen/pencil pockets & a notebook pocket - keep your tools handy and ready!
key clip - a small clasp is attached near the top of the bag to easily attach those pesky car keys (so your bag doesn’t eat them), ID cards or even your pepper spray and taser!
removable bows - cute bows to add some cute vibes to your bag! But not to worry, if you’re not into bows, they easily untie! As default, all bags will be shipped with bows pre-tied. If you do not wish for bows, please email me at kauis.studio@gmail.com. If you take them off and struggle tying them back on, there will be an instructional reel on my instagram to help you re-tie them!
zipper - a zipper is attached to keep your belongings protected and secure!
reinforced straps - straps are sewn on in a strengthening pattern to ensure it is strong enough to carry the things you need! The straps are also soft enough where they won’t dig into your shoulders.
The mini keychain bag features a gold lobster clasp to add to any keychain, zipper or loop! It’s large enough to fit your airpods or other earbuds, an emergency kit, a mini sewing kit or any other doodads you may need! I made them large enough to fit an asthma inhaler (albuterol, in case you were wondering) if you’re also a wheezy individual like me ;)
These bags are made in small batches and feature a rotating display of cute and AAPI prints that highlight the patterns and artwork unique to their respective cultures. Most of the fabrics to make these bags were sourced in Hawaiʻi through a small local fabric store.

I believe in fabric and content transparency. I always strive to use the most sustainable materials and processes.

Kaia - /k(eye)-uh/ is Hawaiian for “the sea; reflecting the calmness & power of the ocean.” I chose this because of the soft blue palaka, which is a long-cherished print in Hawaiʻi. The color reminds me of the calm ocean in the early morning against soft sands. The inner fabric is a heavy contrast in its business and boldness, which Hawaiʻi never lacks this energy as well. Kaia in this case is balanced in both the calm and the power of these two fabrics sewn together.
Care instructions: Machine wash cold delicate, no bleach, tumble or air dry
Reusable, washable and eco-friendly

🌺 INSPIRED by Hawaiʻi: All of my products are designed by me in appreciation of my Native Hawaiian culture. Many of my products highlight the natural beauty of my home including the language. Hawaiian is an endangered language, and while I am not fluent, I also refuse to let the language die. E ola ka ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi, long live the Hawaiian language.
♻️ SUSTAINABILITY: I source the best eco-friendly alternatives for my products, and do a lot of research to ensure high quality and sustainability. I always aim to source my products from companies who share these values as well. Most of my products are recyclable or compostable especially my packaging. Our goal is to be 100% plastic free by 2026!
💚 ALOHA: Everything I make, I make with plenty of aloha. I want my customers to feel what makes my home so special. Hawaiʻi has a complicated and traumatic history, and sometimes it feels like that aloha spirit has been lost. In between the rising housing costs, the extreme cost of living and the climbing poverty rates as a result, and the disparities and displacement my lāhui feel (myself included), I want to make sure they - you - feel seen and loved.
📦 SHIPPING & DELIVERY: Expect about 2-3 business days for processing, and an additional 2-5 business days for shipping. I use USPS to fulfill all of my orders, so tracking information is shared as soon as it is available (do wait up to 24 hours for the tracking information to be updated).
International delivery times vary.
